We are a small home-based Registered Cattery (TICA) located in the beautiful, scenic Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada. Inspired by our passion for the Sphynx breed, our philosophy is keeping it small so we can invest our time, energy, and resources into our Sire, Dams and their kittens.
We fell in love with the breed when we met our first one at a friends house. After much research and planning, we adopted our 1st 2 Sphynx kittens with the intention of them becoming a bonded pair.
We love sharing in the happiness & joy that comes with owning one of these unique loving souls!
We strive to provide a stress-free, enjoyable adoption experience, from the moment you reserve your kitten until they go home with you. We work to facilitate long-lasting relationships with our adoptive families.
We truly care about our kittens and love to follow their journeys through life by receiving ongoing updates. When you adopt a Sphynx kitten from Soul Valley Cattery you become part of our cat family!
We believe in a holistic approach when providing care for our cats.
A Sphynx cat is not your standard house cat.
They need more care & attention to keep them healthy and thriving. On top of ensuring their physical & medical needs are met, we are very mindful of their emotional & mental well-being. This means we commit to 1-1 playtime sessions at least once a day. We ensure we are fully present, giving them our undivided attention.
They have free access to our home and their dedicated cattery room. Their dwelling spaces have a variety of perches, cat posts & cat wheel and toys to play with.
Both our Sire & Dams are harness trained and enjoy supervised access outside. They love being outdoors enjoying the fresh air exploring, and chasing bugs!
We free feed them vet-recommended dry food & wet food 4 times a day and alternate toppings with 100% real oven-baked chicken, roast & salmon we prepare weekly. With a diet that meets all their nutritional needs, daily 1- 1 playtime, and lots of love & cuddles, they're not just healthy but happy and thriving.
Healthy, Happy, thriving parents produce healthy happy, thriving kittens!
While there's no doubt these guys are adorable with their high intelligence, unique looks, cuddly nature, and quirky antics. It's hard not to want one of these amazing little souls! However, they're not for everyone. Sphynx cats need a lot more time, care and attention than a regular domestic house cat. If you cannot commit to the additional workload, have a lifestyle that's busy with little to no spare time, travel or are away from home for long periods, we strongly encourage you to reconsider adopting a Sphynx kitten. They are very social beings and dislike being alone for long periods. Re-homing can be traumatic for them. They become very attached to their people.
The average lifespan of a Sphynx cat is 8 to 14 years, with many who live to be much older. Save yourself and the kitten the grief & heartbreak of having to re-home. We recommend researching the breed before making a long term commitment.
We know from personal experience how exciting yet overwhelming it can be to adopt a Sphynx kitten.
The type of Sphynx, i.e. Canadian, Elf, Bambino, color and price range, are likely factors you're deciding on. Just as important is where you find your kitten. The Cattery/ breeder you choose to adopt your kitten from is a big decision when you consider the time you'll spend interacting with them. We believe a reputable Cattery should be transparent about its adoption process—no vague ambiguity. If you're a first-time Sphynx owner or someone who's had a bad experience before, we were once in your shoes and know exactly how you’re feeling. The apprehension of trusting someone you don't know can be daunting. Our pre-bonding services are tailored to build trust through consistent, regular contact. At Soul Valley Cattery, integrity & transparency are key. Our Adoption Process, Services we offer, Prices, Contract terms, Sire/Dams HCM Genetic Testing results, and proof of TICA Registration are posted on our website. What you see is what you get, no surprises. Have a look around. If you feel we may be a good fit or have a question not answered here, don’t hesitate to reach out, no strings attached!
